Scholarships Tabor College will be awarding scholarships to qualified biology and chemistry students. This stackable scholarship is worth up to $3,000 and is open to eligible high school seniors accepted to Tabor College majoring in Biology and Chemistry. In order to be eligible for the Tabor College Biology Scholarship, a student must; be accepted to the college, meet with a science faculty as a part of a campus visit, have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and meet one of the following criteria: ACT composite score of 23 or an ACT Science score of 23. McPherson College has added a scholarship – the McPherson College Service Award. Service is an integral part of McPherson College’s mission. Las year alone, 66% of their students were involved in service projects totaling over 5500 hours in the McPherson community. Service projects have included tutoring young children, spending time with elderly community members and traveling to areas in need of disaster relief assistance. McPherson College is interested in contacting students who have chosen to give significant service to their communities. If you are interested in attending McPherson College and applying for a Service Award, please let me now as soon as possible. College Answer’s free scholarship search provides access to an award database containing over 2.8 million scholarships worth in excess of $16 billion. Barton County Community College sports medicine department is looking for individuals interested in becoming a student athletic trainer. Each student athletic trainer is given the opportunity to participate in all activities directed out of the Cougar Training Room. When assigned to work with a specific sport, this includes working practice sessions, covering home events, and usually accompanying the team on the road. Each student will receive a books and tuition performance award to help meet college expenses. If you are interested in doing this, please let me know ASAP. If you have not applied for admission to K-State, apply for admission and scholarships at www.k-state.edu/admit/apply. If you have already applied for admission but did not complete the scholarship portion of the application, you may apply for scholarships at www.k-state.edu/sfa/scholarship. Priority date for incoming freshmen is November 1, 2007. If you are looking for a Christian College, you can go to www.christianconnector.com. They also have $2500 Christian College scholarship drawings. In 2007 the Kansas Horse Council Foundation awarded ten $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors throughout the state of Kansas. Criteria for applying are shown below. 1. GPA of 3.00 or higher 2. Applicant must be accepted into a trade or other accredited scholastic institution. 3. Applicant must have a background in the horse industry such as 4-H, FFA, High School Rodeo or have shown a willingness to serve the equine industry such as volunteering at the county fair or assisting at a therapeutic riding center. 4. Applicant must be able to provide 2 letters of recommendation. 5. Applicant must be a current Kansas Horse Council member (Student memberships are $35) 6.
